Forest Co-op Electronic Data Capture Protocol Project
The objective of the Forest Co-op Electronic Data Capture Protocol Project is to design, develop and test an electronic data capture tool that can be used in conjunction with various forms of computers and data loggers in a field environment.
Potential benefits of the tool include:
- screening and validation of data to ensure minimum standards are achieved
- ensuring that required data elements are not 'missed'
- minimizing errors generated through data handling and data entry procedures
- streamlining of data transfer from field collection to a database system.
The development of the electronic data capture tool will be focused on the collection of tree, stand and forest level data for the purposes of describing growth, yield and stand dynamics of Ontario's forests.
