Forest Co-op Growth & Yield FRP Projects
Through the Forestry Research Partnership (FRP), the Forest Co-op collaborated on three one-year research projects:
Stand Density Management Diagrams (SDMD) Software Project
The primary outcome of this project was the development of SDMD version 4.0. This software permits the user to project the stand forward to a specific quadratic mean diameter (dbhq), height or stems per cubic metre... (more)
Growth Intercept Model Project
The objectives of this project were to develop variable growth intercept models for jack pine natural stands and plantation in Northern Ontario, to develop polymorphic site index curves which can be used in Northern Ontario in younger jack pine plantations... (more)
Mossy (Modeling Ontario's Stand Succession and Yield) Project
This project has resulted in the creation of succession rules developed with data for stands that have not had a stand initiating disturbance. A unique, low-cost method was used to develop changes in stand composition using data from existing temporary plots. (more)
